Cool how you progressed from paper to digital. I did a similar thing when I first started drawing too. Went from paper exclusively, then when I got my drawing tablet and played around with it using Krita, I found that it wasn't all that different from drawing on paper. Then I quickly switched to all digital because I could play around with colour.
For the second question, I was wondering what equipment you use while drawing and how you use it.
For example: I have an "at home", and "on-the-go" setup when I draw.
For my "at home" setup, I have my XP-Pen drawing tablet Artist Pro 15.6 in front of me, and my Thinkpad T420 behind the tablet with a keyboard & mouse on a tray. This way I can look at references while drawing.
(There's also a second computer, but it's a little complicated to explain)
My "on-the-go" setup is where I have this table on my lap with my laptop and drawing tablet on top of each-other, so that I can draw using the same equipment while sitting in a chair...next to an outlet. Battery life is poor while drawing on this laptop.
I have a Wacom graphics tablet. Model - "CTL-412"
To be honest, it was hard for me to switch to full-time work on a tablet, because creating a line was completely impossible for me. However, over time I learned, and now my paper costs have significantly decreased, which I am glad about! Well, you don't have to buy materials for work, like liners or brush-pens

1. I used to create drawings exclusively on paper. Until recently, I made drawings in a combined form - line on paper, color in SAI 2. Now I have completely switched to digital.
2. I didn't quite understand the second question. Usually I just sit down at the drawing, having a rough idea of it, about what kind of atmosphere I want to convey through it.
